Terms of Service
Welcome to CodeVault. By using the site you agree to these simple terms.
1. The service
CodeVault is a free platform for learning to code across many languages. We may add, remove, or change lessons, features, and cosmetics at any time.
2. Your account
- You must provide accurate information and keep your password safe.
- You're responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Don't share accounts to game XP or leaderboards.
3. Acceptable use
Don't use CodeVault to:
- Break the law or harm others.
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or automate lessons/exams to farm XP or certificates.
- Attack the service (scraping at scale, DoS, reverse engineering security).
- Upload malicious code or content that harasses other users.
4. Certificates
Certificates are issued after passing a final exam for a language. They confirm that you completed the CodeVault track — they are not accredited academic qualifications. We can revoke a certificate if we find it was earned by cheating.
5. Cosmetics and XP
XP and cosmetics have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or refunded. They may change or be reset if we rebalance the system.
6. Your content
You own the code you write in lessons. By submitting it, you grant us a limited license to run, store, and display it back to you as part of the service.
7. Availability
CodeVault is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it online, fast, and correct, but we can't guarantee it will always be available or free of bugs.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, CodeVault is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
10. Changes
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and notify you where appropriate.
